Disappointment with Lotus Notes

Lotus Notes was designed with the aim to provide users a collaborative email client, which can run on multiple platforms including Windows, Mac, OS/2, SCO Open Desktop UNIX, and Linux. Fortunately the software supports multiple operating systems as it was aimed but with some flaws. Following are the issues with Lotus Notes to Exchange :

• Because the software has been designed with the aim of supporting multiple operating systems, its user interface becomes complicated.

• There are also compatibility problem with client applications.

Due to complicated user interface, users find it difficult to quickly and flawlessly create, edit, or/and forward emails, contacts, notes, etc. through Lotus Notes. Organizations need to educate their employees to let them easily use the software. But, when the organizations found that even after providing a rigorous training about using Lotus Notes, employees are having problems in send/receive operations along with compatibility issues; organizations start looking towards MS Outlook with a new hope of easy-to-use email client. MS Outlook has comparatively simple user interface than Lotus Notes and does not have any compatibility issue. Therefore, a large number of organizations are now using MS Outlook that were previously using Lotus Notes.
